THE COLD SUMMER OF DEAD

Live Audio Video perfomance, 2015

Junkfood presents the outcome of their collaboration with filmmaker and visual artist Carlotta Piccinini, resulting in a show featuring strong visual and emotional impact.

The common ground are the band’s compositions, which is currently touring supporting their latest release “The cold summer of the dead” (including the famous Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona and other important venues both in Italy and abroad). Piccinini integrates the music, providing visual environments to it, creating a live perfomance that interacts in real time with the musicians.
The storytelling follows the concept of the album (Giovanni Pascoli’s poem “November”) along its emotional evolutions: the shift between lights and shadows, landscapes empty nonetheless full of dark and electroactive lines, scenarios inhabited only by strict and aloof urban structures dominating them, a nature occasionally humane represented in its most abstract and pure forms.
The result is a show where the audio/video plot is suspended but shared as a result of an empathic and simultaneous influence among all actors.
