Carlotta Piccinini is a filmmaker, author and video artist, moving from creative documentary, video art, interactive art and fiction.

After her studies in Sociology, Political Science and Communication Italy and France,  she directed the documentary Eco de Femmes (2013) and the short film El Hijo de Fatima (2016).

Both films were showcased in many international festivals winning several awards.

Her video art project Enaction (current) presented in Schusev State Museum of Architecture (Moscow), won the Celeste Prize for Contemporary Art (2014).

In 2015 she was invited as a video artist to exhibit for the worldwide project UNESCO Creative Cities Network (Mannheim).

Her feature film Ichicomori was selected in development by the renowned workshops Venice Biennale College Cinema 2018 (Italy) and Sources 2021 (Berlin).

In 2018 she worked as author and editorial coordinator for the three-part series “1968mm” (2018)  a co-production with rbb / ARTE, Czech Television and History Italy.

She lives in Berlin where she is currently collaborating as author, director and production assistant for many film production companies.
